Fickle and Frustrated

Today’s blogpost is brought to you by the letter W, as in WHINE. I’m having such a hard time with everything about this second release. I’m angsting over the blurb, obsessing over the cover, and all around unhappy with everything about it, just now. My poor cover designer must think I’m neurotic. I know my editor is tired of hearing from me. I have no idea why this book is so much more difficult than the first one. Considering all the trouble I’ve had since the beginning of the editing phase, f I were the superstitious type, I’d say that maybe this book wasn’t meant to be. That’s hogwash though.

Anyway, thanks for listening… er reading. I find it helps to vent my frustration to the ether once in a while and I appreciate your indulgence.

  1. I think we all have days like these.
Sometimes it helps to look back and see how far you’ve come. And you are doing great work, so you should be proud!
Keep the good stuff coming. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I don’t think you whined enough. It takes me at least 3 paragraphs to get the anxiety off my chest. That said, take a deep breath … exhale … and kick the wall.

    Feel better?

  3. You two are so sweet.

Thanks Kirsten, that’s helpful advice. Looking back on what I’ve accomplished does help!

Sharon, I’m spare with my whining because otherwise I’ll just keep going all year and no one wants that! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. I’ve found that when I’m feeling like that, I need to either set the book aside for awhile, or it’s time to put it out.

I bet once you’ve got some space, you’ll be very happy with what you’ve done.
