Ha! I finally figured something out. No, I can’t tell you what it is. Not even if you beg. Sorry. It’s cool though. Promise.

Made it through chapter 21 in my revision. Only four more to go now! A couple more significant rewrites of some scenes, and the second draft will be done! I’m super excited. My first second draft ever.

I sent out an application to an MFA program that is almost completely online. I’m not sure if I’ll end up doing it, but I figured it would be worth it to see if I was accepted. To my thinking, it will be a lot like the critiquing forums I’m part of now, but with the addition of instructors who are actually published authors.

  1. Good luck on the MFA program! In writing?

I sometimes think of going back for a Master’s in mathematics or astronomy, but what I really want is just to take some classes.

I am eagerly anticipating an ending. 😉

    • Yes, the one I’m looking at now is an MFA in writing. I’m in much the same situation as you, I think. What I really want is to take some classes and that’s about it. My company actually pays for any courses I want to take, with the requirement that they be in pursuit of a specific degree. So in my case I can’t just take whatever class I want, if I want them to pay for it (which of course, I do). I’ve really never had any formal writing training at all, so I think it would be good for me.

If you just want to learn random science stuff in a semi-curriculum environment without the big price tag, MIT has a whole whack of online courses you can follow along with here which is really a fantastic resource. I love their biology courses in particular.

I’m still mulling around over the ending. I’ve had a hugely busy work week, so I think it will have to wait for the weekend, alas.
